We’ve given our blog a new look for 2019, but it’s not all about aesthetics. In truth we were struggling to find stuff, and it’s grown massively, so it was time for a sort out. We’ve spent the last few months re-organising things in the background so hopefully it should be easier for you to get straight to what you want – be it motorhome or financial freedom information. So if you’re a regular reader and can’t find your favourite things – this is the best place to start, or if you’re new to our site and want to know what’s on it – this is the best place to start too!

At The Top of All Pages

At the top of all pages you’ll find ways to click through to most places. Click on our logo at any time and it’ll take you to our home page. In the top right you’ll find ‘Social Media’ logos these will take you to our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds and also our YouTube Channel where you’ll find loads of videos from our motorhome tours. At the end of the Social Media row is an envelope, click on this to send us an email.

Our main menu is broken down into several headings, I’ll go into what is in each one of these below. Finally one of the best ways to find stuff is the little magnifying glass which will let you search our site for a word or phrase – it could anything from Athens to tyres – the results will show you all posts and pages containing the word or phrase, organised by relevance.

Main Menu

As mentioned above, the main menu has seven sections, each containing a wealth of information. Let’s dive in…

Blog

Click on the blog heading and it will take you to a page with the eight latest posts on it.  At the bottom of the eight posts is the option to see the next eight, and so on. However if you are looking for a post about a specific place you may want to use the search function as mentioned above.

Once you have found a blog post you want to read, if you then want to read the previous post, or the next post there are arrows on the side of the screen which will take you there. If you reach the bottom of the post, there is also a button to take you back to the top.

OurTour Blog Page

Our Tours

Click on the heading ‘Our Tours’ and you’ll be taken to a Google Map with dots on showing each place we have stayed. Zoom in and you can click on the dots to see information about the place, get GPS co-ordinates for it and a link to the blog post from that place.

If you hover over the ‘Our Tours’ heading it will bring up two new menus:

Our Motorhome Tours‘ is a list of each of our tours that you can click on to get more details. As well as a short summary of the tour, there is also a Google Map of our stops (as above you can click on the dots for more information), a link to the first post from the tour and a link to a post about the costs we incurred on that trip.

‘All Tours – Map’ has the Google Map mentioned above with all our overnight stops on it. There is also a link to a page with Google Maps of other bloggers overnight locations. As we mainly stop on aires, you’ll also find a link to a page about what a motorhome aire is, including videos of what to expect and how to find them.

Money

Hover over the heading ‘Money’ and you’ll see three further headings (if you don’t, just click on the word ‘Money’ and you’ll be taken to a page where the three headings are buttons you can click on).

Financial Freedom
If you don’t know our story, we returned from travelling in our motorhome for two years and set out to obtain Financial Freedom so we don’t have to work anymore, leaving us free to travel when we want. All the blog posts and information we gathered while working towards Financial Freedom (which we reached in August 2015) can be found here – including blog posts on a sister site Jay created called The Money Muppet.

Motorhome Costs
In this section you’ll find breakdowns of the costs of our trips as well as blog posts about the costs of motorhoming.

Making Money
Making money contains blog posts about different ways we have made money while on the road and while we were working towards Financial Freedom.

How To…

Two small words hide a wealth of information. This section is all our guides and blog posts about How to do things from touring a specific country to installing a SOG unit on your van.

If you hover over the heading you’ll see a set of topics. Click on any topic to see all the blog posts about it.

OurTour Blog How To Page

Other Blogs

We’re not the only ones blogging about our time on the road in a motorhome or campervan. We’ve put links here to a page chock full of other blogs, both those on the road now and those who have parked up their vans. There is also a link to a page with Google Maps of other bloggers’ overnight locations.

Shop

Click on the heading ‘Shop’ and you’ll be taken to a page that gives details of all of the books we have written and where to buy them from. Hover over the word ‘Shop’ and you’ll see two headings:

Our Books‘ contains a list of the titles of those books, and by clicking on the title you’ll get more information and links to where to buy them from.

We Recommend‘ are posts and reviews of things we have tested or used on the road – from towels to technology, you’ll find all the information there as well as affiliate links to Amazon. These links will take you to the item or its nearest equivalent. If you chose to buy any item you pay the price you would normally at Amazon, but they will also give us a small percentage of the cost for introducing you to them.

About Us

Here you can read about the both us us, as well as find out about our current and past motorhomes. There is a section that contains the times we have appeared in the press, be it magazines, TV or radio. Finally there’s a link to page with all the various ways to contact us.

Side Bar

On most pages you’ll see a sidebar. At the top of the sidebar there is a box where you can put in your email address to receive our ’round up’ emails. These emails go out on Sunday mornings and provide links to the blog posts we have written in that week.

The rest of the sidebar contains links to our books, a Google Map showing all of our overnight stops, links to stuff we recommend from Amazon, as well as adverts for providers we use and a Google Advert which pays us a small amount of money for hosting it.

That’s It!

OK, that’s it. If you’ve any issues using the blog, or have any ideas on how we could improve it, we’d love to hear them. Please just pop a comment on this blog post, or email us. Thanks very much, Ju and Jay
