Cleaning and Writing in Sveti Filip i Jakov

Zagan the motorhome’s still occupying the two best pitches at Camping Filip in the small town of Sveti Filip i Jakov (N43.95970, E15.42848). It’s a small campsite, and we’re enjoying having the place entirely to ourselves, playing ball with Charlie and spreading ourselves out! It’s €14 a night here without electricity, and the showers are to die for.

We teetered this morning between heading for the island of Pag, and not heading for the island of Pag. In the end, we didn’t head for the island of Pag. Instead, we got some stuff done here. The weather forecast’s showing signs of sliding from ‘perfect’ to ‘slightly less perfect’ (Ju’s just mentioned thunder and hail, ah), and we’re both keen to get a couple of writing projects done. So we’ve stayed put. Today’s blog post dear reader, is therefore in a few pictures.

Ju did the washing. Our cheapest ever at £2

Ju did the washing. Our cheapest ever at £2, obviously no charge for drying! Ju also hoovered Zagan and I tackled the awkward job of cleaning the loo. Man job, toilet scrubbing.

With a lovely clean van, we munched toast then got some writing done.

Then the campsite owner arrived with some beautiful fish. Wow!

hi, I’m just sat here watching Rick Stein having just read your last two post, yes very sad last few days with the passing of Victoria Wood and Prince, I was almost wanting to let you know by posting on this blog the other day but thought better of it,,Life is short or Life is very short {as The Beatles said}…I will soon be out and about this year on the Coach Trip, but the thought of the Motorhome with no time barriers is a nice new goal to strive for.

Interesting to hear about the weather in Croatia at the moment. We are currently on Lake Garda, the sky is overcast and it keeps rumbling with thunder. We are slowly heading for Croatia probably getting there next week sometime

Gone a wee bit cool today Jennifer, spots of rain, so not far off what you have up there? We’re slowly heading north so may well be about when you pass through. Give us a shout if it looks like we might pass? Cheers, happy travelling, Jay

On another thought; my 2 dogs don’t like going up or down the Hymer steps. Have just velcroed non slip carpet pads that seem to help…
How do you manage the in and out of Charlie….? We have a Labrador retriever and a Griffin/poodle mix!

Ah, he used to leap in on Dave’s single step, but the high double one on Zagan is too much for him these days. He tentatively places his paws on the bottom step, at which point we place a hand under his belly and carefully fling the wee fella inside! He’s well used to it by now, and just stands there waiting for the gentle dog-chuck to take place. :-) Jay

    HiJay,

On a technical note, as we are off to France soon, do you know which adapter is required for filling our under van LPG tank, do I just need one type or are two required?
Have you got your discount card yet?
    Regards

    Richard

      Hi Richard

We gave up waiting and it’s still not arrived. We have the 2015 card and the receipt for the 2016 one, so we’re making do with that.

France uses the dish adapter, I’ve only ever needed that one there.

      Cheers! Jay
