A new look ahead of our new adventures.

August 3, 2015/12 Comments/in While at Home

Those of you who have visited our site before may have noticed something a bit different – or maybe not!

I used to work in the marketing department of a large corporate company and every time their logo or brand underwent a refresh it meant loads of work for me and my team. Usually the change was the most minor of tweaks and we were all convinced hardly anyone would notice.  So, why on earth would I change the logo on our little site?

It really feels like we are starting a new chapter in our lives. We’re still very much on Our Tour, but that tour is no longer simply touring Europe in a motorhome. It has already taken us on the journey to financial freedom, and we hope it will not only take us to far flung shores, but also to teach us more along the way.  My Brother runs an agency developing integrated digital, marketing and PR for some big companies, so we cheekily picked his creative brains over a beer and he helped us to come up with our new look (Thanks Murray, you’re a superstar!!).

Charlie has agreed to take a step down and remove his paw print from the logo and we’ve replaced it with our ugly mugs – after all it is Our Tour!! So when you are looking for us on Social Media (Facebook or Twitter) now our logo won’t be his paw, instead it’s a little OT symbol.

Favicon

Anyway, I hope you either like it or couldn’t care less – because that would finally put my mind at rest about all that wasted time in Corporate life. We love it and look forward to inspiring travellers everywhere to hit the road or rail or take to the seas or skies and see the world.

Ju x

And just in case you hadn’t noticed the difference:

    Hi,
been following your “périples” for a while… very entertaining and informative!
Did you sentimentally meant to leave the “paw” as your favicon, or would you also change it to “OT”
    Cheers!

Prefer the old logo. Jay looks like a young Rolf Harris in that image!!!

I have been reading your site from the ealry days which inspired me to purchase a copy of your book.

Sometimes we learn if it is not broken why go to the trouble of having to fixing it. I have no problem with the following caption, would the changes you have made stop me reading the site? No!.

However there was something really cool about having Charlie’s paw print included in the logo, please have another litlle chat about this, Charlie may have agreed but have wee??

    Best John
Hope to bump into you out there

      Hey John!

Thanks for the kind words and support fella. It was actually Charlie who made us change it, would you believe it? Apparently a member of the canine mafia in Sicily cloned his paw print and has been using it to sign cheques for gravy bones. Charlie’s bone account has been completely cleaned out. Miffed? Words cannot describe his rancid demeanour. I’m hiding upstairs as he paces about down there chewing the furniture. We had to quickly whip his print off this here blog before those dastardly wild dogs of the med nicked his pigs ear stash. :-)

Life’s all about change. Ours is about to take one hell of a twist and the logo update felt like the right thing to do mate. Thanks for sticking with us and and I hope we catch up over a crafty 40 cents can of Lidl ale too.

      Cheers, Jay

Love your story, read the lot last year, inspirational. Sorry, hate the new logo, young Rolf Harris doesn’t do it for me. After all, Charlie is the star of the show!

Hey Martin, what can I say? I’m thinking my face comes across more as the studious father in Teenwolf? :-) Cheers, Jay

It’s because of you two that me and Sam the old dog are currently away on month 7 of our European tour. Been full timing in my homer since September and on the road since February. Loving it will no plan B !
