Reunited in A, Lofoten Islands

Zagan the motorhome has had a relaxing couple of days by the beach in Haukland. We enjoyed walks around the coastal path and looking out over the white sand beach and clear azure water.

Free camping in Norway, we’re among the other motorhomes on the left

This morning we had a rendezvous in A (it should have a circle over the top of it, but this is being typed on my phone so I have no idea how to make that happen). The last letter of the Norwegian alphabet, it is also appropriately the last (or first) village on the Lofoten Islands.

Skipping across two islands, past the ‘must see’ places we pulled into A at lunchtime and alongside Christina, the motorhome of our fabulous friends Chris and Tina. They, along with daughter Libby and their two whippets, have driven up here during the school holidays – they make us look like sloths.

After a stroll around the village, where we bumped into Sarah and Tabitha who I’ve been chatting to through the Motorhome Adventures Facebook page, we’re now backtracking along the route we drove this morning. We’re going to spend the next few days exploring the islands together, just like the good old days when we travelled around Spain, Portugal and Morocco with them.

We’ll post a round up update later when we’ve said goodbye. But for now we’ve got loads of catching up to do, and Jay has some fish to catch for tea.

To get an Å try holding your finger on the A, it should give you a bunch of options, at least it does on my iPhone. Love the blog, where’re you heading for the winter?

Thanks Norman, appreciated. Sometimes we skip the accents as some platforms can’t cope with them, Google Maps for example. Most of the time we put ’em in though, then change the text when we add a map entry. No iPhones in here, but we can simply search on the place name, cut and paste, a bit rough and ready but works.

Spain and Morocco are calling this winter, bring it on! Cheers, Jay
