Almost There – In a Couple of Senses!
Only 3 hours to go before all of Ju’s hair is removed! She’s really chuffed to have raised over £1000 – thanks so much to everyone who’s contributed. She has the man flu too, so the next few hours should be, ah, fun? Judith, her lovely mum, has bought her a series of hats and wigs to keep her warm for the rest of the winter. She’ll be taking donations up until 6pm tomorrow (26 Jan 2016) if you want to donate after the hair’s all gone (watch this space for photos)! Just go to this link to donate:
Here she is talking about the head shave and our next tour of upcoming wanderings with Mark Dennison on BBC Radio Nottingham:
[audio:https://ourtour.co.uk/home/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/J-BBC-Radio-Nottingham-25-Jan-2016.mp3]We’re also just a couple of days from setting off, and the great pack-a-thon’s commenced. As ever, these last few days are packed with emotion too as we say bye to friends and family for a few more months. Our friends Jon and Anne were married at this weekend (fab day!) so we got to see loads of mates then, enjoy a big party and say bye for a while. It’s no fun this bit though, leaving is hard but so is coming back after months of wandering?
The table behind me is quickly filling up with all the bits and bobs we’ve moved from the van in here for the 6 weeks we’ve been back. Our packing list is back out to try and ensure we don’t miss any big stuff. New books on the Baltics and Scandinavia are piled up. A trip to Sainsbury’s is in order to get some British goodies is on the cards. Charlie is, as ever, snoring his way through all of the slow motion drama going on around him.
Right, best get back to sorting stuff. Do we need this map of Croatia? Who knows – the route is, ah, unknown.
Cheers, Jay
