We had to drive around most of San Marino to get here though, as the roads loop around the rock it sits on. The sun has gone, the mist has rolled in, and it feels like another world. Good job we caught the views yesterday as today it&#8217;s been a white-out. While it&#8217;s better than having to put Charlie in kennels (which will <strong>never<\/strong> happen) it\u00a0is almost double the cost at \u20ac245. So, we&#8217;ve contacted the other two operators to see if they can help, or are cheaper, and have our fingers crossed. If none of them offer camping on board, then we&#8217;ll take the cabin option as it&#8217;s a 791 kilometre drive, some of which we&#8217;d do twice as we head back up Croatia, so it makes sense to ferry it.<\/p>\n<p>I do love Italy, and San Marino, and I could easily stay here (maybe not in this misty car park though), but I think that I need a change of scenery. The marvellous baroque buildings and beautiful cities can only hold me so long, the <em>gelato<\/em> holds me a bit longer, but eventually I have to say <em>arrivederci,<\/em> which isn&#8217;t goodbye, simply <em>until we meet again<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll keep you updated on the ferry, but for now it&#8217;s time to return to my book &#8211; I&#8217;m reading Lady Chatterley&#8217;s Lover as the author, D H Lawrence, was born close to where we live and I&#8217;ve never read any of his books, so while I have the time I figured I would.<\/p>\n<p>Ju x<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zagan the motorhome has spent the day in the mist, in a\u00a0free car park at San Marino (N43.94050, E12.44015).
