As it&#8217;s Saint Valentine&#8217;s Day we&#8217;d said we&#8217;d treat each other to some clean clothes, so a romantic day at a nearby laundry was planned. This meant moving to another aire about 5km away, which was further away from the trains. Not that they kept us awake last night, in fact we hardly noticed them now.<\/p>\n<p>Just before the off I was giving Charlie a cuddle and he was scratching his ear, this happens frequently like a nervous tick, but a quick look in his ear showed that he&#8217;s got another ear infection &#8211; poor fella. The aire we are currently at in Saint Pierre en Faucigny (N46.05882,E6.37455) is across the road from a pharmacy; its flashing sign keeping us updated on the time and temperature &#8211; currently 16:58 and 7\u00b0c. You can get most pet medications from the pharmacies in France. As we still have his nearly empty ear drops, tomorrow when it re-opens we&#8217;ll take in the box and see if they have what we need; if not there is a vets about 150m away as a back-up.\u00a0Decision made. We&#8217;ll get Charlie sorted tomorrow morning and stay here lapping up the free electricity today.<\/p>\n<p>I headed across the train tracks to the nearby petit Casino (corner shop) for a baguette and came back with some Saint Valentine&#8217;s day treats; a bit of steak for tea and some nice beers for Jay. As I wandered back I noticed all the other vans in the car park had their satellite dishes up. Hang on a minute! We have electric hook-up, which means we can have the telly on! We&#8217;d not thought about it last night, opting to watch a film on the laptop instead.\u00a0Up went the dish and the rest of the day has been very lazy watching Sunday Brunch and the Rugby, as the mountains around us remained shrouded in cloud and rain showers swept across us. Usually one of our overhead lockers is like a snake&#8217;s wedding, full of cables and chargers all tangled up in each other, which makes it very annoying when you need to get out just\u00a0one. Finally we may have found a solution. We have a plastic box which fits in the locker, inside it go all the charges, but each in their own see-through, resealable bag &#8211; basically a freezer bag (ours were from a well-known Swedish furniture retailer).
