Party time, excellent!

We’ve spent today emptying the house some more, with my parents’ garage and loft taking the brunt of the suitcases, boxes, tools and so on and so on. It’s been a bit difficult as we were horribly hung over after a fantastic leaving party last night. Many of our friends came around to help us drink all the bottles of spirits we’d had left in our drinks cupboard. The concept worked a little too well and we all (well, except for one or two of the ladies and Roger who had to drive) got rather merry and had a great time. Thanks to everyone who came, especially those who travelled from the far flung parts of the country to be here; we really appreciated it and we’re going to miss you. Mark was really on form; you’re a hero, hope your head doesn’t hurt too much!

Tomorrow will see us visiting the weighbridge (fingers crossed it’s less than 3100Kg), then my Dad’s helping us to move our remaining furniture into storage, and finally we’ll clean and photograph the house and sleep in Dave on the driveway ready for the MOT on Tuesday (more finger crossing). We hope to head half way to Dover on Tuesday afternoon, then get the 8pm ferry to Dunkirk Wednesday evening. It’s getting very, very close to us leaving the UK and we’re feeling somewhat detached from things. It’s hard to believe we’re actually doing this and won’t be back for a year. Charlie seems to have finally sussed something’s happening, as he’s noticed his food’s moved into the van…

Wonderful blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News. Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Many thanks
