6 Day Countdown

Six working days left to go.

This feels unreal. If I were reading the story of this happening to someone else, I would be jealous. Very jealous. And insanely curious about how they did it. Here’s someone with their health, a beautiful wife, a motorhome with which to travel the world, a luxury (ahem) annexe to use when in the UK, a wonderful family and a steady stream of cash magically appearing, with no apparent work being done. A guy who can choose to spend Xmas with family, winter in the Alps, spend the spring in Croatia and the summer high in the Arctic Circle. Forever. What a lucky b*****d!

But it just doesn’t feel real. Something which is too good to be true, has to be false, doesn’t it? I feel almost like someone is going to snatch this whole imaginary, incredible life from me, from us. Or that I’ll just wake up to find it all a dream. Or that we’ll find the sums have some gaping hole in them and we have to slink back to the office for another decade or two.

It’s getting close now though; I wonder at which point reality will bite?

    Hi both of you
We both enjoyed your Hump, a great way to describe it.
As for the future, well it’s there as in marriage, for better or worse.
At this time we have to work until 67 years old! To receive a state pension!
Is it not better to have your youth( health) and enjoy life now, money cannot and will not ever give you that in the future.
Adverts say once in a life experience to travel to some location, NO Travel and enjoy whilst you can, economise on the things we do not need or want, life is for living.
Money does not want you both to embark on this adventure, money wants you to carry on using it, therefore earning it, do not economise just spend your future and then have to work to keep style you NEED.
Look forward to you both sharing your adventures.
    Thanks for sharing
    John

We’ve been full time since April. We still wake each day and say ‘no meetings :)’. Don’t miss so called creature comforts of home, fat pay packets etc. Just people – friends and families. Every day brings enriching and rewarding – fabulous experiences, interesting people and we have the time to enjoy those moments where something amazing happens that you were not expecting. Best decision EVER.

Hah! Good for you guys! No meetings. Ooooohhhhh. I remember that feeling. No PowerPoint, no weekly reports, no timesheets. Just an out of date bunch of Lonely Planets, a stack of dog eared maps, a motorhome, Ju, Charlie and a dice to decide where to go next (not that we ever did that!). Just another 20-odd meetings to go. Cheers Katherine, Jay

Hey Matt, I’m oddly missing the anticipation. Might be because the project I’m running has a big go-live this weekend. Squeezing the last drop out of me they are! :-). I’m sure it’ll come, maybe on Monday? Cheers, Jay
